Liminal Events & Metaplot: 8/5 - 8/18!
At the conclusion on the Jaunt, on August 5th, everyone will be drawn to Liminal Space… which will be a little different than usual. Rather than simply a combination of two environments, it will be a chaotic combination of them, a nonsensical mansion… every room in it resembling something drawn from the Travelers’ own homeworlds, and in fact, from the Travelers’ homes. It’s a chance for nostalgia and homesickness, for uncomfortable revelations, or for anything else characters want to explore or share about where they come from… and for those who want, it ends there.
But for others, it can go deeper. Exploring the house, Travelers can find an unusual number of dungeon portals in the form of mirrors, and they’re not only for characters doing reclaims. All the portals connect to a maze of carnival funhouse mirrors, in which the characters can see themselves, rather differently than they’d expect. Older or younger, genderflipped, traumatized where they are well-adjusted or vice-versa, villainous where they are heroic… and if they look for long enough, the image and the reflection may temporarily change places, leaving the character altered for anywhere from a few hours to a few days, at the player’s discretion. Anyone trying to reclaim an idled character will find themselves trapped in such a mirror, dealing with a decidedly sinister reflection their Fellow Travelers will have to help them defeat or escape…
On August 12th, while the portals to the mirror-dungeons will remain open, Liminal Space will shift again. That taste of home sweet home is gone… replaced by a train station in the grips of a natural disaster. Fire, flooding, cave-in and collapse… fissures in the floor opening onto seemingly endless falls… but only on the empty, trainless tracks, leaving the main platform safe and clear. There are, of course, timetables clearly displayed, showing routes departing to Paramo, En Zhenming, Thalassia, and Blackbanner Port. All trains, wherever they are, apparently depart at 00:00. And above every train schedule, there are blank, gold-rimmed clock faces with neither numbers nor arms.
It may be just another strange Liminal Space. And it may be the best chance to to understand the trumps so far. Interested players are welcome to form small groups and explore the more dangerous reaches of the station, or just hang out by the newspaper stands and snack kiosks - participation in the mini-event is completely optional.
And of course, on August 19th, the Pirate/Mermaid Event begins (plotting for that will be up soon).

A Slice Of Home
Re: A Slice Of Home
+1 Quiet, Calm Courtyard
It's a great place to congregate and talk or relax or play games, if someone has a deck of cards.

In addition to that description, the doors to the Hall are a set of heavy bronze double-doors, and the mosiac on the floor is an intricate pattern of chimeras, from which the hall gets its name. In general, think very Baroque French in terms of decoration and atmosphere.

She may or may not end up sleeping on one of the couches.no subject
Hitsugaya won't be happy to see this at all. It's the site of a discovered deception, thus a representation of how (and an actual place where) he failed to properly protect his best friend/sister.
Re: A Slice Of Home
He's not going to be at all happy to see it, personally, but for everyone else, it'll probably just be a kind of creepy, high tech curiosity.

Which I can't find a picture of right now and don't have time to search for but I will return to this later for a second try.

Robb loves this place, you'll probably find him praying and talking to trees. Also...there is a hot spring~

Re: A Slice Of Home
A life-sized animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex. Nonfunctional, thankfully.
Eren will contribute a locked wooden door.
Joscelin's will be a half-sized marble statue of a man with one outstretched, bleeding hand, in the middle of a (non-statue) bed of flowers.

Inga's is a dingy technical lab, with these three robots standing in the back.

Also, thanks to the mirrors, Noise and Echo are going to return to how they were while they were in the cell. The simple version is they act a lot like the other one does now. But not quite. Basically it's a good chance to learn just how screwed up their existences are.

If you want to know anything further about the classroom itself and why it's so important/emotional for Erwin, I will definitely share... but it is spoilery for the manga/Erwin's backstory, so I don't want to just freely share that sort of thing.

Riddick is contributing something even worse! A cell from Butcher's Bay, the last prison he spent more than a day in. It apparently looks kinda like this, according to the video game.
How nice that neither of my characters actually have homes, so I got to pick places that were just important to them :B
Re: A Slice Of Home
The uh, Chantry probably owns it now, one assumes they could sell it. To ...pay for some minor property damage recently caused to their institution. ANYWAY the point is that a] it is sort of hilariously opulent because Hawke did none of the decorating and continued not to care about that, ever, and b] signs point to previous occupation by a large dog, smallish domestic staff, and m...edium-sized abomination. Adorable abomination--adoramination? Yes.

Shiki's will be a kendo dojo complete with practice wooden swords and real katanas LMAO... I don't have any plans for atm so she's just going to be hanging there practicing probably. Why interact with people when you can hang around blades okay that is definitely the better choice here.
Re: A Slice Of Home
Anyone brave enough (or masochistic enough) to do some exploring will find this spot at the end. Not exactly world's better, but it's getting there- climbing up will lead not to a field or open area like the plants would suggest, but a military style office, impeccably clean and orderly except for the giant gaping hole in the floor that leads back down into the tunnel. For some reason, the smell doesn't carry through it- the air in the office is as clean as offices get. If characters arrive through the tunnel there will also be a fresh pot of tea sitting on the desk and ready to go as a reward for making it that far, and a considerably more relaxed atmosphere than the one in the underground.
The office door does lead back into a hallway, but in a different area of the mansion.
