The Grand Finale: Info Post
...So, uh, hi guys. Been a while. That said, we come with some good news:

I. An Apology
We really should have done this a long time ago, and we know it. Fortunately, we did see the final jaunt through to the end before RL decided to kick us all in the backside again - pandemic, politics, a pair of hurricanes (RIP Airdra), and Matt’s promotion got in the way for several months. A thousand apologies for not actually getting the finale off the ground before now, and thank you as always for your incredible patience in these wacky-ass times.
II. A Finale
The grand finale mingle will be going up Very Soon. It’s not only a mingle, but a fourth wall; you’re welcome to dust off every former character you might have had in Syn, anyone you wanted to test out here but didn’t, and drag all your friends in for shenanigans. Given the implication that everyone here was here once, even if it was so briefly no one ever met them, you may want to have a refresher on the basic info and jaunt info, to figure out what, if anything, fourth-wallers might have gotten up to. (ETA: we have a abbreviated Pre-Moebius list too now.)
III. What Happens Now?
What happens now is that Syn is a sandbox. Muck around in/with Liminal Space. Run your own mini-jaunts. Send characters back and forth to their homes as you please. Take a crew of Travelers and go fuck up the Combine/the Titans/[insert some other colossal Big Bad here].
What happens now is no more active modding. We’ve been at this for several years and we need a break from the official side of RP life. We’ll probably still be around in a sandbox-participant capacity, since we love this setting conglomerate too.
What happens now is that Talia, of Sara and Bern and Deedee fame (among others), is co-writing a CYOA Syn-sequel quest with bii on Sufficient Velocity. This is not the ‘canon’ sequel, but it is a possible sequel, and sharp-eyed readers may notice a sneak peek at the canon DWRP Syn end in a recent update (whoops). Check it out if you’re so inclined.
ETA: What happens now is that Matt is having a Syn AMA on plurk, to answer literally any question you may have ever had about the inner mechanics of the Arcana's nonsense.
IV. Last But Not Least, THANK YOU
Seriously, thank you all for sticking with this wild ride, some of you from the very beginning. Syn literally would not have become what it was without your help, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome.
You have been most remarkable guests.

PRE-MOEBIUS JAUNT LIST (AN ABBREVIATED SUMMARY)
JAUNT 2 - The Overdue Scroll - Office politics in the Library of Alexandria.
JAUNT 3 - Telepresence - A Corporate Dystopian Splatterpunk Clone Drama.
JAUNT 4 - Red Dirt - A Martian Western, in which a daring group of outlaws attempt to steal some corporate herds to benefit their town. The original version didn't go well and started the process of weakening Fortune. The redone version we got when the Arcana time traveled went better.
JAUNT 5 - Iron Curtain Call - Cold War intrigue + found families in a traveling circus behind the Iron Curtain. (The last jaunt the Unlucky Dead were there for.)
JAUNT 6 - The Summit of Hel - It seems like this might have originally been a somewhat political Jaunt, given that it began at the annual conference between the elven city-states of the Federaton of Hel, but unfortunately everything went utterly, terribly wrong when the representative of January became patient zero in a virulent pandemic. The heaviest blow of unluckiness against Fortune.
JAUNT 7 - The Three Kingdoms of Yensid - The annual ceremony to reunite the three people of Yensid and balance the Kingdom's magic goes horribly awry when one of the three amulets belonging to the three peoples--the Stonefolk, the Forest Folk, and the humans--goes missing. In the process of finding the missing amulet, we lost one of the others. The final blow of unluckiness that felled Fortune.
JAUNT 8 - The Starless Sky - Terminator/Matrixesque future, hiding from the machines, win condition - answering a distress call that turns out not to be a distress call but satellite notification to be at a radio telescope in time to make first contact (before the machines do).
JAUNT 9 - The Zeitgeist - A mad scientist assembles an international summit to auction off his resurrection engine and other technology in exchange for an amnesty for his war crimes. Everything plays out as straightforwardly as it sounds like it would.
JAUNT 10 - Babel Futuresport - In a future capitalist hellscape, the top sport is a mostly bloodless battle royale - an obstacle-course driven combination of pinball, roller derby, lacrosse, and American Gladiator/Ultimate Beastmaster where the audience votes on the teams and rules and every game introduces a new twist.
JAUNT 11 - Kau Lung - In the same world as Newport, in which spirits have given a large percent of the population superpowers, an exchange of captured secret agents in the Special Administrative Region of Kau Lung goes horribly, terribly wrong.
JAUNT 12 - The Darkest Crystal - In the far, far future, after many environmental disasters have turned the Earth largely into a Wasteland, various factions of the remaining city-states vie for control of a psychic weapon of mass destruction. Prequel to Slivers and Shards. This is the Jaunt the Travelers chose to strike on, leading us to Moebius.
